If you have a large number of leads to add at once, you don't need to create them individually.
For example, you may have purchased a book of leads, attended a networking event, or received a spreadsheet containing multiple prospective clients. BrokerCentral allows you to import these leads in bulk using a CSV file.
Importing your leads
Navigate to the Leads Dashboard.
Next to + Create Lead, click the drop-down arrow and select:
Import Leads → Import lead data from spreadsheet
Upload your CSV file to begin the import.
Once uploaded, BrokerCentral will allow you to match the column headings in your spreadsheet with the corresponding fields in BrokerCentral.
Where possible, the system will automatically match columns it recognises, but you should still review these before completing the import.
Matching your columns to BrokerCentral's format
You'll be asked to select the Header Row on your spreadsheet - this is the row that contains your column headings such as "First Name" or "Phone Number"
The next screen is where you can match up your Header Row with format of the upload to BrokerCentral.

You will be able select what you what your headers to become on the Lead page and if any information is missing, after you press next, you will see the following pop up

Press continue. This takes you to the Validate data screen

All sections requiring information will be shown in Red and can also be seen by switching the toggle switch to "Show only rows with errors".
See examples below of where data is required.

When pressing Confirm and the below pops up, the leads will not be imported into the Leads Manager as the data is insufficient.

Once the areas in red are filled in, submitting the form will then update the All Leads under Lead Manager.
Important: Make sure you review your data before importing it, particularly renewal dates and column mappings, to ensure the information is added to the correct fields.
Formatting renewal dates
Renewal dates must use the following format:
yyyy-mm-dd
If your spreadsheet uses a different date format, you'll need to update it before exporting the file as a CSV.
In Microsoft Excel:
Open the spreadsheet containing your lead data.
Find the column containing the renewal dates.
Highlight the column and select Format Cells.
Open the Number tab.
Select Custom from the Category list.
In the Type field, enter:
yyyy-mm-dd
Click OK.
Once the dates are formatted correctly, save or export the spreadsheet as a CSV file and upload it to BrokerCentral.
