Getting comfortable with BrokerCentral’s user interface (UI) is key to working efficiently. Once you’re familiar with the basics, you’ll fly through tasks in no time. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the core concepts so you can navigate the system with ease and confidence.
Dashboard
The dashboard is where you’ll see a snapshot of your most important activities, and it’s made up of three fixed widgets:
My Tasks: This is your to-do list! It shows all the tasks that are either assigned to you, that you’ve taken on, or that relate to the clients you manage. Each task is clickable, so when you need to get something done—like issuing client documents—you can click the task and a pre-filled email will pop up, ready to go! Plus, tasks are colour-coded (red for urgent, amber for upcoming, and green for low priority) to help you see what needs attention first.
Recent Clients: This is a handy list of the clients you’ve recently added or updated. Perfect for jumping back into a file you were just working on.
Latest News: Stay informed with this automatic news feed from the insurance industry. It’s also great for keeping up with your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements!
Navigation Menu
On the left-hand side of your screen, you’ll find the Navigation Menu—your main access point to all the core areas of BrokerCentral. Here’s a quick rundown of what each section does:

Introducers: Track your introducer relationships and referral activities.
Settings: Adjust system settings, including branding, email setups, and more.
Note: Not every button will be visible to everyone, as some depend on your subscription level or user permissions
Top of Page - Task Bar / Support - Help!
Wherever you are in BrokerCentral, these Icons will be at the top of every page. This allows you to search for something within the whole system, get support if needed, check your tasks and get to the configuration pop up (agencies, introducers, products and system settings).
Pro Tip: Keep an eye on the notification bell icon—it alerts you to important updates like policy renewals or system-wide announcements.
Need help quickly? The Support Icon is your gateway to instant assistance. Click the icon to access support articles and guides or start a live chat with the BrokerCentral team if you need hands-on help. This is the fastest way to get answers when you're unsure about something, without leaving the page that you're on.
The Three Dots
BrokerCentral uses Three Dots at the end of every row which will give you various options depending on what screen you are on.
Under Leads the options are: view/edit lead; start proposal; asssign to me or delete lead.
Under Clients the options are: view client or delete client.
Under Policies the options are: view policy or view client.
Under Contacts the options are: Update or Delete contact.
These are the most commonly used one, accounts dots will be in the accounting section.
Global Search Bar
The Global Search Bar at the top of your screen is a powerful tool that allows you to quickly locate clients, policies, contacts, and documents. Simply start typing a keyword, and the intelligent search system will display matching results across the entire platform.
Did You Know? Some pages in BrokerCentral feature an additional Contextual Search box, which limits your search results to items directly related to the specific page you’re on. It’s a handy way to find exactly what you need without leaving the context of the page. These are usually located towards the top-right of the page.
Context View vs. Global View
When working within BrokerCentral, you’ll come across two main types of views:
Global Views: Think of this as your bird’s-eye view. Global Views allow you to see data across the platform, such as the Global Contacts List or the Policy Overview. This is super handy when you need to manage multiple clients or policies at once and want to see everything in one place.
Context-Specific Views: These views focus on one specific client, proposal, claim, or policy at a time. When you're working in a Context-Specific View, you'll see all the information tied to that particular item, like their policies, claims, and contacts. It helps you focus on the task at hand without distractions from other data.
Final Thoughts
Mastering these key UI concepts will help you navigate BrokerCentral with confidence and efficiency. Whether you’re a new user or simply looking to refine your knowledge, having a strong grasp of the platform’s layout will save you time and ensure you get the most out of your experience.
