Sanctions Searches within BrokerCentral

How to run and check on sanctions searches with out leaving BrokerCentral

Getting set up

Running a sanctions search within BrokerCentral is quick and easy.

Before you get started, you’ll need an account with Simplified ID, formerly SanctionsSearch.com, which is the provider we integrate with.

You can sign up at my.simplified.id/account/register. Before signing up, please contact our team to get your exclusive voucher code, which gives you a 40% increase in the number of searches included within your sanctions search bundles.

Once you’ve signed up, we’ll ask you for a few details so we can set you up in BrokerCentral. There is a one-off set-up and provisioning fee for this service. Please contact the team for details.

Performing a sanctions search

When you open a client file, or create a new one, BrokerCentral will notify you if a sanctions search is required for that client.

Click Open Sanctions Search to begin the process.

Note: You can also access the sanctions search feature from the available actions menu within the client file.

Once the sanctions search window opens, you’ll see either the company details for a limited company or individual details for a private client.

For limited companies, you can import officer details directly from Companies House. Alternatively, you can manually enter details, delete officers, or add additional officers as required.

For private clients, the process is similar, but you’ll be adding any contacts linked to the client rather than company officers.

When adding details for clients, there are also additional contact fields for the Date of Birth and Nationality, if populated these are used as additional data points when creating a search.

Once the client details have been completed, click Search.

If there are any matches, they will be displayed in the results. Occasionally, you may see partial matches, such as someone with a similar name. In this case, you can manually mark the result as a match or not a match.

Once you have reviewed all results, click Confirm Results to complete the search.

Checking previous searches

If you need to finish a search that was started previously, or check who performed a search and when, you can open the Sanctions Search section within the client file.

Here, you’ll see a list of all searches for that client.

If a company officer has since been deleted, they will be archived on this page but will remain visible for audit purposes. Any searches that have not yet been completed will also be displayed here.

You can complete an unfinished search either by returning to the client overview or by using the actions menu for the relevant search record and selecting Resolve Search.

For limited companies, this page will also show the results of the search carried out on the company itself.

This page provides a complete audit trail of sanctions searches, including when searches were performed, who carried them out, and the outcome of each search.
