Getting set up
Running a sanctions search within BrokerCentral is quick and easy.
Before you get started, you'll need an account with Simplified ID (formerly SanctionsSearch.com), which is the provider BrokerCentral integrates with.
You can sign up at my.simplified.id/account/register. Before registering, please contact our team to obtain your exclusive voucher code, which gives you a 40% increase in the number of searches included within your sanctions search bundles.
Once you've signed up, we'll ask you for a few details so we can configure your BrokerCentral account. Please note that there is a one-off set-up and provisioning fee for this service. Contact our team for current pricing.
Step 1: Open the Sanctions Search
Open the client record you want to search, or create a new client.
If a sanctions search is required, BrokerCentral will notify you and provide an Open Sanctions Search option.
Note: You can also launch a sanctions search at any time from within a client file by clicking the action button.
Step 2: Review the Client Details
When the sanctions search window opens, BrokerCentral will display either:
The company details for a limited company, or
The personal details for an individual client.
For limited companies, you can import company officers directly from Companies House. You can also manually add, edit or remove officers where required.
For private clients, the process is similar, but instead of company officers you'll be adding any contacts linked to the client.
If a client's Date of Birth and Nationality have been recorded in BrokerCentral, these will automatically be included as additional data points to help improve the accuracy of the search.
Step 3: Run the Search
Once you've confirmed the client details are correct, click Search.
If any potential matches are found, they will be displayed in the results.
Occasionally, partial matches may be returned—for example, where someone has a similar name. Review each result carefully and manually mark it as either a match or not a match.
When you've finished reviewing the results, click Confirm Results to complete the sanctions search.
Step 4: Review Previous Searches
If you need to review a previous search, complete a search that was started earlier, or check who carried out a search, open the Sanctions Search section within the client record.
Here you'll find a complete list of sanctions searches for that client.
If a company officer has since been removed from the client record, they will appear as archived within the search history but will remain visible for audit purposes.
Any searches that have not yet been completed will also be displayed here.
To complete an unfinished search, either return to the client overview or select Resolve Search from the Available Actions menu for the relevant search.
For limited companies, this page also displays the results of searches carried out against the company itself.
The Sanctions Search section provides a complete audit trail, showing when searches were performed, who completed them, and the outcome of each search.
